It definitely was a diverse week of photography last week. There was a shoot with awesome gold-clad Champagne Serenade singers performing at a Melbourne restaurant, there was a studio full of pot plants & fancy watering devices and there was this… a film noir inspired shoot with Melbourne musician Frankie Alibi & his hot 1954 Buick, newly imported to Australian shores.
I love working with Frankie because the brief is always creative and well thought out. I’ve shot his bands promo pics and their gigs, but this one was more of a personal concept shoot. Frankie wanted a film noir inspired shoot, that felt like it could be stills from a movie. It had to be dark & moody. It had to show how hot the car is!
It was night time, so the laneway was completely dark apart from one overhead street light. So this became my main source of light, along with a bit of off camera fill flash here and there. If you’re on my mailing list I’m going to send out an email shortly explaining how we did the one where he’s looking into the boot. So get on it if you’re not already by subscribing via my contact page.
