I’ve been so lucky to work with some really talented creative people in 2013! Here’s a few shots from the year that was. A huge thank you to these incredible artists for trusting me with your vision & allowing me to push my creative photography again & again both in & out of the studio.
Karolina is one of the most creative people I’ve ever met & this was possibly my favourite shoot of 2013. Not only that, she has a drive that will make the most active of us feel lazy. Karolina has created a world inside her studio & is one by one, bringing to life characters inside her imagination. You can find out more about her & her incredible arts practice in the short documentary I also made on her in 2013 for the Arts Atlas. If you love what you see (and you will!) you can buy her first book, which incidentally would make an awesome christmas gift 😉
Kat Pengelly is another incredibly talented Ballarat artist. She has a unique flair & I’m sure she’s going to go on to great success. You can check out more of her work & what she is up to on her website.
The Creative Couples Project is the brainchild of two gorgeous ladies Belinda & Cecile. The idea is to celebrate creative couples in Australia & get a sneak peak into their lives & how they fuel each others creativity. They are running a pozible campaign at the moment to fund their book so if you’ve got a ten-er or more to spare to celebrate the arts, head along to their campaign.
Sophie Miller is an up & coming comedian in Melbourne. I met her when she won the people’s choice award at the Melbourne Short & Sweet festival in 2012. She’s hilarious & one to catch. This shoot was for her new show “Sophie Miller Dies On Stage, A Murder Mystery” at the Butterfly Club in Melbourne.
The Electric Sunkings are a great group of guys making some super cool post classic rock in Ballarat. They are always gigging about both Ballarat & Melbourne. Check out their upcoming gig at the Evelyn Hotel in Melbourne on 22 December 2013.
Kim Haughie has the most gorgeous studio tucked away between Ballarat & Daylesford & it’s no wonder her work comes out looking so stunning. I also made a documentary on Kim in 2013 so if you’d like to find out more about her ceramic arts practice, check it out.
